Plug in a few terms you can think of and it will try to build a table of similar items. This can be very helpful with brainstorming: from a simple shopping list to trying to include every facet of linux security in a report. I tried linux and security and had to submit a few applications that are involved with those two terms. When I did I got a fairly long list of similar applications to consider within the context of those two terms. Those containers in the shipping yard would be broken open and any resources (like vehicles, medicines or food) be distributed. Any ships on their way to Haiti should be given priority, the military escorts would be all the paperwork needed to let them pass any given checkpoint. Buildings should be setup and clearly marked for separating wounded. From stolen credit card numbers, to lost health care records, to leaks of intellectual property and trade secrets, data leaks dominate the security headlines on nearly a daily basis. And although there are a variety of approaches and tools available to limit leaks, the marketplace is confusing with conflicting messages, overlapping product feature sets, and no shortage of hype and fear-based marketing.

In this Thought Leadership Roundtable our panel of experts will cut through the hyperbole and present practical strategies for reducing data leaks. From securing content repositories, databases and discovering stored sensitive data, to preventing network leaks and tracking user activity, we will cover the range of tools and processes available to reduce losses.

SC World Congress 24/7

SC World Congress 24/7

Why Is My Fedora RedHat System Out of Date?

Having noticed that the usual "yum update" that I perform on my system did little more than call home I finally did some research and found that I am sorely out of date.

The Yum Upgrade FAQ spells out the steps necessary to get your system back on the cutting edge and performing regular updates again.
